    Giggle bug...

What if the photographer you hired suddenly got afflicted by the giggle bug? We didn't know what happened here but before we left the house, we made sure my little grandchild will amuse herself with an old cell phone to take her photography to the next level. Woooo....what next level you ask. Yup! that was exactly what it was because two days we went out to the Chocolatier in Yarra Valley for the Easter Egg Hunt and we got bombarded with "where is my camera?" sort of question.

So the next day we went to the Melbourne Aquarium equipping her with an old cell phone. She had loads of fun but off on all her shots that were completely unrecognizable because she moved her camera away as soon as she clicked. No images, just blurred. So that night I sat down with her and showed her what to do. Better do it better tomorrow she said...as she went around the house that night trying to get it right...eager to wake up early for another trip.

Well, she took good shots of the elephant nose, no real proper focusing but for the rest of the day she was so happy just clicking away and laughing her heart out when she took a good shot of Papops' (Bill) mole and a few other things beside...It was a great moment shot, this one...

    Giggle bug...

You decide...I do not know if I should load this to Insect 2016 as I cannot find the Giggle Bug nor what it looks like...

Thanks for looking...any comments will be appreciated.

I looked it up in my entomology books and they describe it as "a small, multi-colored insect (latin name- Snapicus papopilous) readily identifiable by a goofy grin and its signature call of Tehe-tehe-Tehehe"

Nice image that belongs in a safe place for future reference.

Iz, simply Great!. Love the colors in the image but hands down, your granddaughter's expression is priceless. Please tell me she picks out her own wardrobe, she has a wicked sense of style and I'm betting it matches her personality.
And maybe....post up some of her pics here so we can see her style and vision, since she's not bothered by the *rules* and *technicalities* she may show up any number of people here.

What a wonderful shot! Her expression, the colors and the wonderful surroundings all went together to form a great capture of a precocious little girl. This one is definitely a keeper!

    Re: Giggle bug...

Thank you all for the responses. It is overwhelming and encouraging at the same time.

John 2 and John (Shadowman) thank you. When I was processing this, I did not hesitate a single bit and just wanted to share her infectious laugh...

Randy -- thank you for the Giggle Bug ID --plus the latin equivalent. This reminds me of the time we were asked to learn another language in school and I chose Latin for the heck of it because the Webster dictionary have latin derivation of words. Then one of my elders ask "Why study a dead language?" Your "Snapicus papopilus" sound just about the right description...

    Thanks James...what a wonderful compliment!

    Thanks Stephen.

Mark, she just turned three when we last saw her and boy! does her brain really work -- like a sponge. Need to be careful of what she hears...though sometimes I forget...and she repeats it till I blush!

Thanks Jack -- That was a nice compliment. She has a lot of beautiful clothes and will always wear a tight underneath anything...and her rainbow socks are her favourite. It is getting a little bit chilly over that side of their pond right now...

Thanks Richard. Always nice to hear from you.

Thanks, David and Griddi -- glad you like my shot. I am sure my DIL have the same shot of her like this too as we were both taking her picture at the same time at that time. She is just infectious...Night before we left she went to our room and after asking me if she can have the frog earrings her mother gave me, she got infected by the giggle bug again. We sure misses her a lot now that we are home...

    I appreciate all your comments.

    Great shot Izzie.
Your situation makes me realize how 'fortunate' we are to have our grandchildren nearby. They have their 'bad' days, as we all have, but it is a joy to have them around!!!

Images should be about emotion...this certainly is.
