Nice series and a lapwing.
Nice series of photos. Excellent moon shot and the lapwing looks like he was coming over to give you a thrashing. We really enjoyed Byron Bay. Though the town itself was a bit "touristy". We stayed in a B/B just south of town and stuck to the south beach due to the privacy. The woods walk on the way to the beach was full of wallabies. That is a beautiful stretch of coast.
Nice series... That tent which adds on to your vehicle is quite a nice idea. I would like to travel that way but, my wife insists on a full blown motorhome...
All nice. Wish I was there. We were just a bit north over Christmas.
Dicky.....very nice....love your camping style.........
Griddi....
That was our first trip in the Delica. The side awning and annex does work really well. I've already started doodling 'quick release' mechanisms to detach the living area from the van so we can get out and about in the Delica without having to strike camp. The other thing I like about the setup is that I can tow a tinny as well...
Hi Richard, thank you for your great set of pics at Byron. It brings back a lot of good memories for me. I used to go there regularly with my family when I was a kid. My parents also lived up on Lighthouse Road overlooking everything, some 30 years ago, when they retired, absolutely gorgeous view. I lived in Lismore during my school years...Cheers Lindsay
Is it rude to ask where you sleep in that set-up camp? It's been awhile since I went camping and all I can remember is cooking and taking the dog out for a walk while I wait for the men to finish gallivanting... so never again! Twice in my lifetime here in the US is enough.
#2 shot -- are those turkeys practicing on the good position to take when they go to the oven? They look funny.
#3 - Southbay shot is very nice, neat and tidy. Missing an element there...human, dog, whatever...now I am nitpicking...
#4 I like this one even though he seems to not like you.
#5 Nice...
#6 Not much surf is my favourite -- those divisions of water all in one shot!
#7 But someone caught a wave is good catch too.
#8 Nice one too.
The annex is for living/dining etc but we sleep in the van - it's actually very comfortable and spacious. We take turns to cook, and have done so ever since I retired. There was just one rule, I never once complained about anything the Boss put on the table all the years we've been married and she agreed to do the same.
Re #3 there was nobody at all on the whole south beach so the best I can offer is:
As for the Scrub Turkeys there is only one known recipe - place the scrub turkey and an axe-head in a pan and boil until the axe-head is soft. The bird is then ready for the table. Same recipe works well for cockatoos.
Thanks for the laughs, Richard. Your Boss will do. I guess I can have the same cooking arrangement with my sugar daddy but he never criticizes my cooking so I cannot make a deal. That's it! He doesn't criticize my cooking because he doesn't want to cook...sudden enlightenment. Crikey! the heavens just opened up in front of me! I told him awhile ago I am not cooking and he said 'It's OK, I will make a sandwich." That is the end of my story.
