I love poppies (looking forward to seeing some in my garden in a few weeks time, hopefully) and like the way you've kept the detail in the flowers. I assume that you've cropped like this so as to include the bent-down bud, but feel it just puts the flowers a bit near the top of the frame. I might crop more like this, though you might well disagree.

    Two Poppies

    Cheers,

    Dave

Very nice image. I agree with Dave that a little cropping would be good, perhaps less in all, but some from the right at least.

It's very hard to tell at this small size, but they look a bit oversharpened to me. I can see what appears to be a sharpening halo at the top left edge, and the stamens look rather crunchy. But maybe it is must me.

If only because the vignetting, actual or applied, has bottomed out a small area at lower right to R,G,B = 0,0,0.

No, it is not just you, Dan. Opened in FastStone Viewer at 400% with no smoothing, the halos go all the way around the petals' outlines. A bit less sharpening would be nicer, IMHO, and that would reduce the background noise a bit, too.
