Excellent shot...as always coming from you. I wonder what kind of butterfly will this one become? Do you know?
Excellent detail. I suppose a high protein diet is good when you're trying to put on weight.
Nice detail in this one.
It's a Monarch Caterpillar. I have a couple of milkweed plants in pots. I'm hoping they will naturally seed some of the other areas of the garden border. Right now, the plants get eaten by the caterpillars pretty quickly but still produce seeds. They blow everywhere so I'm hoping they populate some of the vacant lots and woodland areas.
Apparently we have milkweeds here too. I went to our local hardware store to ask them about it and the young lady looked at me as if I am crazy to ask so I went online and there was a site where I can get them free. Thanks for the info, Brian. I told Bill about my ordeal and he asked why photographers have unusual way of wanting something to photograph, i.e., rusts, weeds, graffiti, etc.;why can't we stick to pretty landscapes and flowers? I said because there are a lot others to photograph as well...
