Fantastic capture Binnur. You're timing was perfect and I love the conversion. Very crisp, very fresh... I can smell the ocean and hear the waves. Great work

    Re: Splash

I wonder about a very slight crop from the bottom and left side to reduce any distraction from the bottom left corner shoreline; but would that bring the main action too close to the bottom edge?

Everything else looks good to me.

Great shot and conversion. I too would go for a slight crop from the left, and maybe the bottom.

    Re: Splash

Thank you Geoff and Dave. I have just tried the crop you suggested but because the shoreline acts as an anchor point in the original image, losing some of it didn't work very well. Instead, I reduced the structure on the pebbles on the bottom left. I think it makes a very slight difference but it looks better

PS. I noticed that the difference between the two images is almost not noticeable on this website but I can see the difference on my computer. So may be I had better reduce the structure more .

    Very dramatic!

At a glance, the horizon looks as if it dips in the middle. That's because the tonalities of the land on the left and right sides are so similar to the tonalities of the water. If you could get better separation between land and water, that issue would go away.

The bright reflection of the sun at the bottom of the frame sort of pulls my eye out of the frame. I would be tempted to see how the image looks if that reflection was eliminated either by darkening or cloning that area.

Thanks for looking and commenting Mike I actually didn't notice the bright reflection on the water until reading your comment. I think reducing the highlights in that area might help. I will fix it tomorrow as it is midnight here now. Thanks for letting me know. I also know that there is a slight lens distortion in the image, but I actually ignored it when editing because I thought it was minor and not very noticeable. I will also try fixing it when I fix the bright reflection.

Nicely timed and captured, come on and tell us, how many exposures before you caught the perfect one.

Wonderful capture Binnur. It intrigues me that the splash is just in the one spot, and it is the perfect spot.

Wonderful capture, Binnur, I like the way the splash arcs back up over the sun. I agree with Geoff and Dave, though. Just moving it about in lytebox, I think it benefits from a crop of the bottom and left.

    Re: Splash

Thank you very much for the kind words and suggestions John, Rita, Greg, Isabel and Richard

John, you are right that I took a lot of shots and it was fun to wait for the waves to crash with the remote shutter in my hand. I have also some color images from the same evening and I'm hoping to edit and upload one of them soon.

Greg, I cropped the image already when fixing the slight distortion . But because Geoff, Dave and you have suggested some more crop, I tried it too and I think I'm happy with this version too as there are still a few pebbles as an anchor point and the composition looks good ( I actually tried this crop before fixing the distortion and it didn't work so well as I said in post #8). So, I'm uploading the two versions (cropped when fixing the distortion and cropped more after fixing the distortion) for your opinions . I also reduced the highlights in the reflections near the bottom frame as Mike suggested.

Cropped some more from left and bottom after fixing the distortion
