John I had the same thought. These were taken between about 11.00am and 1.00pm. The bright light helps with subjects so distant, but I think the stronger shadows at that time of day help give the wave some depth.

The first two are very good, but I like the last three best also because of the about-to-be milky foam. Good composition and pp too. Sorry to be late in commenting. I only seem to look into one or two posts these last few days and end up going back to bed instead.

I have been following the earlier threads in this series.
All of the images represent top quality photography. These final images, an example of which is copied above, illustrate Greg's skill in getting himself into a location that gives pics that I have never seen before; i.e. at 90 degrees to the wave and therefore looking in to the tube. That is marvellous.
Ans, as Greg says, look at these full sized and the detail is wonderful.

Thanks Izzie, Donald, Janis, Dave and Simon.
Donald, I was part of the surf culture when I was a young man. If I hadn't been injured I would probably be one of the old guys out there today. But having that experience helps in knowing how to read the wave and anticipate where the moves the surfers are going to make.
Janis, it is my pleasure. I was excited by the results when I downloaded them to my computer, and was eager to get on to Flikr so I could share them with family and friends.
