    I'd say 'Yes'; the head has many features I'd say were typical 'fly', hopefully Geoff might be able to confirm.

    I'm not sure about the composition on this one Brian, the sharp bit of leaf damage toward lower right corner distracts me from the subject, unfortunately, there are several other things within the image that complicate simple cropping without also involving cloning to mitigate them. It landed in an awkward place photogenically speaking.

    I cropped this a bit and then added NIK Viveza structure and shadow adjustment...

    It would, of course, look a lot better if I had started with an original RAW image instead of a copy from a CiC posting...

    Even though the fly is seen with more details here, for artistic reasons i like the other more

    I left a note in the previous image post. One of the Picture-winged Flies. A fairly difficult group to sort through so probably one of the Pallopteridae, Ulidiidae, Platystomatidae or Tephritidae families. I would probably start with the last option.

    I was torn between highlighting the fly as you have or the leaf and fly. I like your version but it is just too small for the blog.
