    Mushrooms

With the number of thunderstorms it has been good year for mushrooms on my lawn. Most of these are toxic (one is vaguely inappropriate: viewers discretion advised). Toxic or not , I find fungi, moss and lichens interesting as subjects.

As you say, fungi always make interesting subjects. Surprisingly difficult to photograph though.

A subject which occupies much of my time in the woods once the insect season comes to an end.

Nice series, I would assume that the delicious looking ones are poisonous?

I recognize the first and fourth as Fly Agaric. Mildly toxic and a hallucinogen. The others I do not know, but I make the base assumption they are toxic.

I usually rely on the supermarket or a restaurant for my mushroom selections, these images could tempt me to flirt with danger.

Thanks for posting these photos. They are all great shots. I particularly like the 1st and 3rd photos because you were able to get very good gill detail from your shooting position and angle.

These are all very nice images. I do not recognize any of these as like the supermarket varieties so I guess all of these versions are poisonous, especially the one with the orange tops. We have always been told that orange coloured mushroom are hallucinogenic especially those found on top of cow poops.

Trevor, nice shots. I will be hunting them later in the year, not many around here yet.
