    Bleak

Should I concentrate on the church?

Unless there is a more desirable angle not with that big sign in front. Nicely done.

    Hi Steve,

I think that I would go for a panorama and crop the street and tracks out. They are too bright and prominent for the rest of the image which is where all the interesting bits are.

I don't think the church would work alone because of the billboard in front of it. When I opened it in litebox and moved it down like Andre suggested it looked better to me.

The main theme here is the track; and having church in the background helps the scene....having church alone is an entirely different option

Hard to get rid of the billboard isn't it, cheers mark. I can remember keeping the focal length low because I didn't think I could keep the camera steady with higher focal lengths, so made the best of it but the billboard is always there.

If I had a tripod, Universitat to the left in complete dark to Bank of Austria I think on the right would be interesting.

Another valid composition I think Nandakumar, like you say is to feature the track.

Maybe to the right of the church and include the tracks.
Can you go back and get some more shots to play around with?

Certainly worth looking at mark, I was just lazing about on a bench after a night on the booze and didn't plan on taking photo's, but the church looked interesting lit up and I got the camera out of its bag. There was a lot of late night commuters waiting for the last tram but I thought it was too dark or too bright depending on where I was looking. Cheers

    Re: Bleak

My first thought was to lose the left side lamp post and a similar amount from the bottom. But the right side is out of focus so as an alternative, crop the right side to just lose the central lamp post, maybe a bit of crop and clone. Then concentrate on the church plus the building near the middle lamp post and go square or take a bit from the left side and have a 4 x 5 ratio image?

Cheers Geoff. I didn't have my 50mm with me a year earlier but do you mean just keep the church with all the spires and a bit from the track? Yes, modern graffiti with old church, maybe not quite so old church.

It's alright to crop it by the way.

My thoughts were very similar to your last edit.
