    Tate Modern

Had another trip to London last week, one of the reasons for the visit was to view the extension to Tate Modern. For those unfamiliar, the original gallery was housed in the old power station on the South Bank of the Thames in Central London and was developed into a modern Art Gallery many years ago. As the South Bank has undergone more regeneration of late, Tate Modern have extended their building and it was the architecture of this and the (free) view from the top I went to see. I will have to go back again to see some of the work on display.

1 The view of with the old power station tower in the foreground

2 A different perspective on The Shard - our tallest building in London - everyone stopped by here to take a photo

    3 The brickwork intrigued me

4 And here you can see the brickwork effect from the inside.......the restaurant has had poor reviews which is why it was empty I guess - that and the fact that when you are sat down, you have no view !

5 The old part of the building - the old Turbine Hall

    Hi Kaye,

I assume that you did something special with the two Turbine hall shots? (monochrome in most places)

I like the compositions, which is not to say there is anything wrong with them in other respects either!

    Cheers, Dave

Thanks John, Dave and Nandakumar for looking and commenting.

Dave, I didn't like the 'yellow' light of the image so reduced the vibrancy in both pictures somewhat. Then in the last I boosted the saturation centrally to emphasise the colour of the figurines and the building outside. Both adjustments suited how I saw the image rather than how the camera saw it, if that makes sense. My problem is trying to remember what I saw when I come to the processing a few days (sometimes weeks) later.
