Re: God's Own County
Beautiful images, all. They make me want to visit and bring my camera. Since I am on the other side of the pond, I can't speak to the tin hat or the wink of a comment that gave rise to it. I'll let others with an opinion chime in on that one.
(As an aside, my father visited England while on an antique-hunting trip and fell in love with the whole country, especially the rural areas. He made several trips to Europe but always made sure he started or ended there as it was his favorite place in the world to visit. I haven't had the pleasure yet, but I'll be retiring later this year, so traveling will surely lead me there at some point.)

Re: God's Own County
You'll be very welcome, Geoff, but do make sure you get to the north, Lancashire, Yorkshire (yes, really), Cumbria, Northumbria, Cheshire and Derbyshire are all well worth seeing.
The rivalry referred to goes back to at least the fifteenth century when houses of Lancaster and York battled for the throne of England. We won (in the end).
