Evan and the raspberry fruitsicle
I almost never post photos of our grandchildren, because like all grandparents I am biased and feel that ours are the cutest and smartest.
However, I am making an exception here because I was so pleased with this photo as a photo.
Taken on our Daughter and Son-in-Law's porch in beautiful, afternoon diffused light.
I had just removed a tiny sliver from the sole of Evan's foot and to stop the post-surgical crying, he had been given a raspberry fruitsicle.
Like the wonder-drug that it is, it magically made his pain go away and restored his smile.
I ran to our car, got a body and lens, and grabbed this shot.
motorized Nikon F3P

Ya better keep that camera at your side. You might have missed the shot, which is exceptional. Love the light, the look on his face and the popsickle in the background.
If the narrative had been different, one could imagine that this photo is the equivalent of catching a kid with his hand in the cookie jar.

I love this image.
Robert, do you ever have trouble engaging the grandchildren with longer subject distance of the 135mm? Clearly, you had no problem in this instance.
