I think the whole flickr explore thing is an algorithm, but still... None for 7.5 years, then 3 at once... So either flickr uses the same algorithm as the London bus network, or I'm doing something right

FWIW (really very little) my online images have received quite a lot of attention lately, and a handful of people (complete strangers) have taken the time to msg me and tell me that they've browsed my stuff and have really noted an improvement in the recent images. So hopefully not sounding bigheaded.... But I guess there's some truth it!

Well, not to rain on your parade, but when my son gave me something, no matter how hideous, I always say I like it. Yes, that is a pretty picture of your Mom, and you almost crop her wrist, but it is very nice. She has a nice smile.

You're not wrong! The framing isn't great... Still my fav shot for that week though, and something a little different from me...

I'm quite pleased with the focus (APSC, 56mm F1.2, so about 85mm/F1.8 in FF at close range too)

There's a reason that portraiture doesn't feature very highly in my work

Somehow, I have missed your P52 threads when I was updating the Index page all year, only the first was linked
Now all three are and you might start the fourth quarter sometime this month, which I will keep a better look out for.

Seems I also missed viewing the images here, although in my defence, I do Follow you on Flickr and had seen some there.
However, I have been enjoying reading the humorous dialogue accompanying many of your posts this evening in all three threads.

... and you do seem to have a talent for SP, particularly excellent timing (and the patience that sometimes requires) as demonstrated in 2016:#29.

I use the same shots on all my social media really, so see me in once place, see me in all

SP has been one of my NY resolutions for 2016, and I've gelled fairly well with it.. but like most things, the 'better' you get at it, the more you realise that you're not actually very good (if that makes sense?!)

My Mum? She's "terrible"

You could shoot a close up of a rusty structure... the decay spreading like the onset of night, the golden hour sunshine taunting the colours of the few flecks of remaining paint, the micro contrast of the shot demanding the attention of the eye...

And my Mum would say,

"So what's that supposed to be?"



She should be a member
