National Trust Belton House
One place that is impressive and well worth a visit if you find yourself near Grantham , Lincolnshire UK. Belton House has a long and quite splendid history, it includes a family association with a certain ex king and Mrs Simpson.

It looks like a painterly effect, Mark...very good architectural shot, if I may say so...have you got other shots of this building, from the inside and around the grounds. I will be interested to see them too...looks like a nice place.

One great series of images. Not easy when the lighting is not the best. Well done.

These are a great set Mark and entice a visit....not one I've been to before. If you're interested, the actual resignation letter of The King is in Coughton Court, another National Trust property.

Re: National Trust Belton House
Thanks Kaye, appreciated. I found it fascinating - I have seen the letter, the treatment of Lord Brownlow was really poor - he was ostracised by the royal family and his 'resignation' from his post as Lord in waiting was accepted - except he never tended it!, then his name was forbidden to be in the Court circular from that time on and yet all he did was be a friend and try to limit the damage and help heal the rift working with Mrs Simpson.
Thank you Nandakumar

What a good story your find has! The second set was very nice, so much to look at especially the stairs. I like the intricate design of it though not the format of the stair itself. If there is another way up, I'd rather chose the other one to do so. Is this stair allowed to be navigated to go upstairs? The desk is interesting too. And one of my favourite actors, Colin Firth. Like him very much.

Re: National Trust Belton House
Izzie, there were three stairways, the grand one in the front, one to the side for guests to come and go to the dining room and the servants stairs at the back out of sight, now visitors have access to the two main ones but only view of the servants stairs as they are behind walls etc. with doors to most of the main rooms that are in effect wall panels in the rooms so now not open.
Cheers John, appreciated.
