    Thirlmere

Spent a pleasant few hours wandering the shore of Thirlmere in The Lakes District with a friend yesterday enjoying the autumn colours, chatting about photography and even taking some pictures...

Nice shots Robin. This is the best time of year to be there. Interesting comparison between the first showing a natural deciduous tree line and the second which include a man made cash plantation.

It can be a very tranquil part of the country at times and I left feeling good and refreshed from the landscape and air.

Just this winter though the area was in the middle of a storm that washed away sections of the road in the second shot and buried other parts under thousands of tonnes of rock: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-35183209

Lovely colours and composition. I particularly like the sweeping curved lines in the 2nd. Very relaxing.

I love the colours apart from the scenes here...which others had already described perfectly...
