Mike, just my two bob's worth. Whatever you do it has to be simple and 'cool' no warm colours introduced. Except one Red. Just my opinion.

Thank you to Mark for your reasonably accurate if not overly generous analysis.
Thank you to Chris for the completely different design concept. I'm actually going to try it, not because I'm convinced it will effectively tell the story about white vs. red Pinot Noir, but for the reason you mentioned: it will be "a fun image" (whether or not it tells that story). However, it will be awhile before I get around to making that photo.
Thank you to Ole for convincing me that an idea I've got in mind has a good possibility of working, as it is mostly consistent with the characteristics you described.
Considering that you and I have the same issue, I can at least say that I'm in good company, which is more than I can say for you.

I have decided upon two images. One will be typical of my style and is inspired by suggestions made in this thread. The other one will be comparatively off the wall. If everything goes as planned, I'll make both of them today, as my day has just started.
