Dragged myself out of bed early this morning and took the dog for a walk down at my local beach hoping for a nice bit of colour in the sky. For once our typically grotty weather played ball and I managed a few shots as well as starting the day in the best possible way...

The main flight path for Newcastle airport is over our bit of the coastline so there is a constant criss-cross of them overhead. Not sure I even see them anymore and only clone out random bright bits or the ones that sit near the edges.

This was the first time I have had a chance to really test my iPhone 7 Plus. Have to say the RAW files are a lot more forgiving than the jpegs from my 6 but noise creeps in alarmingly fast if you lighten the shadows compared to the nice big sensor on my X-T1.

FWIW; the ones making contrails will not be going to Newcastle IMO (they'd be below contrail height), these will probably be the ones headed for the London airports or even some in southern Europe.

Donald probably was in one of them when he went and/or returned from the US via Heathrow
