    With birds - C&C are welcome !!

Kindly share your C&C for my below images. Recently I have taken these pictures of these migrated birds seagulls incorporating human presence.

    Regards,

    Hi Tejal,

Shooting gulls can be immensely frustrating, because the results often look just like these.

Bluntly put; only the last even remotely works for me, I'm afraid.

#1 while it has a comical aspect, also has the right hand gull's wing clipped

#2 has the gulls, esp the left hand one, too close, compositionally, to the man

#3 has too many human pose issues; straight arm, bad crop at bottom edge, etc.

#4 just looks like a portrait in which the gulls should have been cloned out, as they're irrelevant

#5 works best, due to their relative scale, but since the gull and man are at different distances and obviously not interacting with each other, even this is tenuous

    I know you'd rather I was honest, and that's what I think.

Some might be improved if time were spent clone-moving birds about, or removing them, but I'm not sure they are worth the effort - sorry to be so negative.

    Hope that's helpful, Dave

    Hi Dave !!!

First of all, you dont need to be sorry for anything. I post pictures with an expectation to get honest feedback so that i can improve myself. So, it is a request, not to be sorry for giving negative review. .

I noted your feedback. And thank you very much for the same. It is a tough job indeed to capture moments with seagulls. They are always in lot and it is difficult to guess their direction of fly. Avoiding jumble and incorporating human element that too with some action, is difficult, need lot of patience .

Your inputs will surely help me to capture something good next time . Thanks once again.

Images 1-3 humorously incorporate human/bird interaction; the bird ears are just funny. The look/feeling of dread with the man is every strollers nightmare and the look on the boy's face is just charming. The fourth image doesn't really work for me and the fifth is very peaceful looking. Nice efforts.

I'm with Dave concerning these scenes. Flying birds are very difficult on their own, as I know from my own experiences, but including them with a person is even more fraught with potential problems.

However, you have some nice portrait shots of people here.

#3 would work well with a more panoramic crop and possibly a bit of clone to remove the flying bird.

#4 is also an excellent portrait, once the bird is cloned out.

The last one just about works.

Flying birds need a fast shutter speed which often causes other problems such as high Iso or narrow aperture. I usually reckon on at least 1/1000 for a slowly gliding bird and at least double that when they have flapping wings.

If at first you don't succeed, try again. Good effort.

I try not to stand under seagulls for obvious reasons
