    Keeping reality at bay

While in New Orleans, I'd get up every morning about six am and get out by myself on the street to catch any interesting subjects.
I'd see many of the same folks every day always guarding their particular patch of turf, including a man in a wheelchair who slept in it on the sidewalk near a convenience store.
On one particular morning, I found him asleep with his hands and face all pulled under his hoodie, as if he was shutting out the horrors of his day-to-day reality.

Based on the location I'm betting the horror is mosquitoes. IMO one of the best you've posted here. Well done.

    Dan,
Thank you for the very kind compliment.
We were only there for five days, a couple of weeks ago, so I'm certainly no expert, but we did not experience any insects, mosquitos or otherwise, days or evenings while we were there. I'd agree with your guess if we were in rural areas, but not in the middle of the concrete and cobblestone downtown.
I believe the horrors this man was trying to block out were mental and emotional rather than physical.

This image sure tells a story and it isn't a happy one. Well captured.

My eyes are drawn to the clean surroundings, I guess its the mind trying to overlook the reality. Nicely captured.
