Bouquet of flowers and its reflection

I took this photo with just a simple halogen floor lamp, at f/5.5 to have amaryllis in focus but their reflection blurred

The lighting and depth of field work well for me, though I would prefer all of the plant with the red berries to be sharply in focus. The busy background being reflected in the mirror, the wiggly stripe of green in the top left area of the frame and the pink/purple stripes in the top left and top right areas of the frame significantly detract from the image for me.

You are right Mike regarding reflections in the mirror, when you take a picture you see what you want to see and not what the sensor catches, pink/purple areas are parts of an anthurium with a curious purple color.
