Great fun! Thanks for sharing both!
Quite an honor!
WoW, that's pretty cool Matt!
Awesome, Matt. She did a good image justice. Well done to you both.
Excellent; is this a digital painting or normal painting?
I see she straightened the phone box
Matt,
What medium did she use? It looks like watercolor but could be tempera.
Matt,
Maybe I am in a grumpy mood but this looks to me like a grotesque caricature of an outstanding photo.

I'm not clear, is this a digital painting using something akin to PS, or, is it a normal painting?
Regardless, I like your image better.
+1 for Mike, loved you image and the painting.
Hi Matt, I've come across Emma's work before, I understand she 'favours' oils, I rather like her treatment of your image. It's somewhat reminiscent of those classic 1930's Posters.

I'm not sure I know how to compare an oil painting to a photograph, I simply like both in this instance!
Both results are nice.
I looked at her work in the link above, she has a different style . I like both
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like your image and I like her take on it although ultimately I prefer the image to the painting.
Like Roy above I noticed she straightened the phone box but in a painting you'd almost have to do that or viewers would criticise it. Such bright colours.
Firstly happy new year to you all!
Thanks for all the comments, this is actually an oil painting, still a bit wet when the photo was a taken

The photo is good as raw material, but in this case I think the painting triumphs. However, IMHO it has a significant flaw. I would have liked the painting to show more definition of the person in the telephone booth; in the photo it is a significant element, especially the hand pressed on the glass. However, the painting makes the person's top garment almost indistinguishable and one barely notices the figure. Nevertheless, I still like it very much. Congratulations on having your photo chosen by an artist.

Challenging and interesting, Matt. I like everything but the clouds, which stop abruptly and do not integrate particularly well. However, I am certainly in the minority, so perhaps just a well to ignore me. On the plus side, I do like the telephone box and the orange on the right, which gives the image real impact.
She is better at bringing out shadow detail than your camera or PP work....
Great effort by both of you.
