I began making photos of transparent glass in the summer of 2012 and all of those first photos were made in this bright field (dark outline) style. It has been several months since I have made a photo in this style, so making this one gave me the familiar feeling of coming home. Some people around here would probably contend that the broken wine glass is what really made me feel that way.
The entire image is in full color; it was not post-processed in the style of selective color.
Setup
The tabletop is opaque, glossy black acrylic and the background is white translucent acrylic. The camera was positioned so the background filled the frame, no more and no less. A medium continuous-light lamp was shining from behind the background toward the subject and camera. A small flashlight lit the raspberry. The vignette was created entirely by the lamp positioned behind the background.
