Cool - I keep hankering after one of the 8mm's just for fun shots like this.
Two real nice images and concept, John.
Very nice captures! Well focused and exposed...
I like #1 the best because the distortion of the wide angle lens certainly adds to the image by concentrating my attention on the crucifix.
On #2, I would have liked to see just a tad of brown wall between the hands of Jesus and the white molding. That is just a minor point and really doesn't distract from the image...
very nice captures and perfect fisheye control.
Excellent image, imaginative, creative and the perfect wide angle. I like it a lot.
I just read an article on how different lenses may create different moods.Your shots are an excellent example.
Impressive!
Thanks all for the comments.
Robin/Brian. Takes time to start recognising subjects that it might work for and it's a bit like selective colour, using it for novelty's sake soon loses it's attraction but in the end it has become part of my standard kit.
Mike you are too, too kind. I just can't spell Crucifixion (don't know what was going through my mind at the time).
Richard, I agree. Some separation would have been better. Just didn't see it at the time (not for the first time).

Very well executed images John. I really like both of them.

Thanks Dave.
Nice captures. You have really nailed these shots. You should be very pleased with them. Nothing to be cross about with them. They are what I would consider 'Keepers.'
Excellent pair of images; i always love creative distortions
As has already been said - wonderful, creative use of the lens.
It's that thing about getting to know your gear; what it can and can't do. You then learn when is the right time to pull it our of the bag and when is not.
Which refers to the event at any rate. The sculpted image is typically called a crucifix.
One wonders how you'd spell resurrection
Actually the event is well documented and almost universally accepted as factual. It's the identity of the individual and what occurred three days later that is typically where opinions diverge. There are only a couple billion of us who accept that part of the story.

Thanks Ken, Nandakumar, Donald and Dan for the additional comments.
Dan, did you have to raise that again? Actually, I'm surprised that the spell checker didn't pick me up on it. It's not a word so far as I can tell.
Thanks for that Brian. Seriously, I have never come across that interpretation before. If anyone thought that it was meant that way, I humbly apologise.
