    Thanks Nandakumar.
I took a series of shots at different Tv settings of this train crossing the bridge.
This was taken at 1/1000sec which was to fast, hence the dark shadows under the bridge.
The next shots taken at slower speeds, brought out more detail under the bridge.
But as soon as the train got an other couple metres further over the bridge the sun hit the silver panels on the train it give off massive glare.
But I have learnt for this particular shot to work I will need a slower shutter speed than 1/1000sec.
When I tried to bring back some detail under the bridge it introduced to much noise.

    Week five of the project.
This #1 is more or less how I envisaged the image.
Originally I thought it would only be possible to get the right light between 10am and 11am.
    Well I was wrong there.
I went down to the bridge at 3pm today, when the sun was lower in the sky and the sun was hitting under the bridge rather than on the train.
#1 I used the Transform tool in Camera RAW to straighten it.
#2 reminds of old post card, diesel replacing steam.
    C&C required.

    1. Finished (I think). f6.3. 1/640sec. ISO 320. FL 21mm.

What fun that you got the shot you wanted!..A thought--if there is more space in front of the train than behind it, I would feel which way it is moving. In this case might consider cropping from the right if that is the end of the train.

Thanks Judith for your comments and suggestion.
The train was moving from left to right.
On your suggestion I have cropped the RH side.
My thoughts on #1, was to get the most of the bridge and all of the train reflected in the river.
The reflection in the river was main subject, which way the train was traveling was secondary.
That's was the reason I choose to have the train in the centre of the bridge .

    1a cropped.

If the train was traveling left to right, then crop the left side--if you buy into my thesis that moving things often benefit by having more space in front of them than behind--(unless, of course, what is being left behind is important!)

Gary, I like your recent crop. Did you mean the train was travelling from right to left? In any event, the current placement of the train helps give a sense of action. Congratulations on getting the image you were after.

Nicely done, Gary. Even more so that you planned and executed the image. The cropped version is an improvement IMO.

You did it! I especially like #1 - after the crop to show direction! Well done!
If you made greeting cards, #2 would be perfect! So in the end, I like both of them! <chuckle>

Very nice. I see you were able to capture the reflection: The ripples in the water did not prove to be a problem as I thought it might.. Good job!
