    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea

These are three of the five carriers full of dogs who were rescued from a Korean meaat market and flown to California on Korean Airlines.

    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea

I picked the ten dogs up at Los Angeles International Airport, right after they arrived from their flight to Seoul. They are Maltese, Maltipoos, miniature poodles and a darling Yorkie mix who looks like a fox...

I dropped three of the dogs off at one of our fosters in L.A. and brought the rest home.

As soon as they were free of their kennels, these dogs started running around and having fun. The motion blur is purposeful...

    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea

These dogs, even after their rough start in life, are very friendly and people oriented...

It is 6:45 pm and my wife is starting to bathe these seven dogs. They are too stinky to wait till the morning...

I will add individual images of these dogs tomorrow...

Free at last! I'll look forward to tomorrow's photos.

Who organized the dog shipping/crating at the Seoul end? A Korean group or someone from the States?

Bruce asked, "Who organized the dog shipping/crating at the Seoul end? A Korean group or someone from the States?"

It is a Korean group who are fighting the dog meat racket in Korea. Our rescue group donated the airfare for these dogs. But, since that had been spayed or neutered before they were shipped, the bottom line cost is about equal to our having the get them fixed here.

A unique thing happened. We received a new foster on Valentines Day whom we named Valentino (bet you can't guess why).

Here's his entry image. He gets professionally groomed tomorrow!

He had not been friendly at all to our other dogs and we were worrying about his behavior with the Korean dogs.

However, he immediately became friends with all seven of those dogs and has been playing with them constantly since they arrived

I seldom have any images of myself but, here I am holding Foxy. She is a Pomeranian + Yorkshire Terrier cross and really looks like a little fox or wolf cub...

Here are the seven dogs we brought home from LAX on Thursday. They are all pretty nervous which shows in their pictures...
    Judy, a young mini poodle
    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea
    Maya, another mini poodle

    Mini, a four pound poodle

    Kuma, a young Maltese
    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea
Bill, a young twelve pound Maltese
    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea
    Gina, a very young Maltese
    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea
Poke (who I call Wolfie) a 5-month old Pomeranian + Yorkshire Terrier mix puppy
    Ten Dogs Arrived From Korea
We received Valentino on Valentine's Day - not from Korea but as an owner surrender

These dogs are all in foster homes now where they can decompress from their earlier life and harrowing flight from Korea.

Yes, they do look somewhat stressed. I know animals can be flown but I've always thought that, from the animal's perspective, the whole experience must be very stressful.
It's good that there were foster homes for all of them. I'd imagined your collection of dogs growing exponentially!

We put out a request for help and lots of our fosters stepped in to help us. That way, each dog is living in a home with at most two other dogs. We thought that this would be the way to relax them.

Here are two updated images of Poke (AKA: Wolfie)
