Very nice Janis, IMO it would also look good without the added texture

Merci, Jean; thanks, Binnur. I was wondering what it would look like without the texture on the flower, Binnur, so I painted the texture into the "sky" alone. I thought my settings were the same, but the colour seems more saturated. I darkened down in spots deliberately. Don't know if it feels as otherworldly, but will have to look again in a day or two.

Thanks, Brian. You should know that it is your macro work that inspired me to do some of my own. Just one example of the cross-fertilization that happens here on CiC.

IMO the flower looks better in this one Janis. If you are planning to play with the image again, you might as well try reducing the saturation in the BG . You might also try the BG with and without texture to see which one works best

Lovely shot Janis - love the split frame. I think the textured background and untextured flower make for wonderful contrast and interest.

We all compost helping others to grow. #2 is a nice variation.

LOL. Perhaps I should have said "cross-pollination".

Thanks, Nandakumar, Binnur and Susan. I do think that space in the left needed filling, Binnur. I get that these texture presets could quickly get tiresome, but they are new to me and I am having fun learning to manipulate them. I have a pretty cool app on my iPad called Adobe Capture that I have started to use to create my own textures that I will be able to use in Photoshop when I get the new computer. i am so full of ideas, i will be wanting to take a week off work when that day comes.

Janis, just adding to the 'compost heap.' I like your edit better.
