Shopping at the Dead Tree Depot

Osprey prefer to take their nesting materials on the fly from dead trees. It's marvelous to watch.

Chris, this is a really good set of action shots.

Did you have your camera set on machine gun mode (aka high speed)? My guess is that the action all took place over very a short period of time.

P.S. Because of the noise that my camera makes when shooting in high speed (i.e., bursts of 7 or so exposures), it always makes me think that I'm using a machine gun.

5 FPS (I can go 10), but at either 5 or 10, I can shoot a 200 shot burst, let my finger off the trigger, and start over almost instantly. It happened while I was shooting a series on a juvenile Red-Shouldered Hawk who was posing so nicely for me. I just caught him out of the corner of my eye and wasn't even sure I got the shots until I got into processing. All in all, I managed 10 shots though it really comes down to these three. Approach, pluck and go.
