This is a really cool concept. The lines are very pleasing to my eye.
I'd like to see execution of the lighting on the toenails as nicely done as on most of the skin. Separation in some areas between the toe nails and the background is lost. That's also true of separation between some of the skin on the toes and the background. The direct reflection produced by the toenails could be used more effectively to display their shape; producing a gradient in the direct reflection and making it appear on every toenail displayed in the image would require considerable thought and execution, but would be exceptionally effective.

+1 to what Mike has written.
Parts of the subject that blend with the background are usually not desirable in an image. Photographers have long used lighting techniques (rim lighting or background lighting) to create this separation or used backgrounds that allow this separation to occur "naturally". Sometimes a combination of both is required.
