Evening in Akaroa Harbour
I like the yachts sitting there all becalmed, etc. - seems serene to me. I have kept the hills black, is that a good call please? Though all comments welcome!

A firey end to the day! I like the colour of the sky.

Nice image Jim although I'm not a fan of the tree in the foreground. I tried a different crop to remove that tree.

I would have said that the hills and the FG trees need just a tad more detail Jim however, when I pull this into Photoshop, there is a tad more detail there. I'm guessing the shadows have been darkened slightly by the forum software. Nice shot.

Re: Evening in Akaroa Harbour
I agree with Dave about that foreground tree. Probably, I would try a mix of crop and clone in an attempt to retain more boats and the distant rocks.
Apart from that, it is a rather dark, looking towards the light, type of scene so I would leave the distant hills black, as they are now. I fear that trying to lighten them might produce a somewhat muddy looking rather soft result.
