    Peacock

Love the spring time when all the birds are in their finest colors.

.........and who can resist them. If ever there was a shot that demonstrated why the phrase "Proud as a Peacock" found its way into common usage, this must be it. That pose says it all.

Very nice capture, Mr. Peacock at his full glory. Beautiful birds but, if overabundant they can become pests.

Twenty years ago, when I was house hunting I looked at a house that had it's own fishing pond. It did but, it also had multitudes of wild peacocks and of course peahens all over the place. Their excreta so fouled the area that the entire acre stank and flies were terrible...

Needless to say, we looked elsewhere...

Thanks! Lol Richard, love the story! The noises they make would drive me crazy, but they are beautiful to look at, just not in my yard.

There must have been thirty to forty of these birds, on the roof of the small home, on every branch of each tree and of course all over the ground. There were even quite a few albinos. They do have a raucous cry!

What a story, Richard. I saw a peacock at the Botanical Garden recently but it did not put out its beautiful glory, Barbara so I just ignored it. I think we went too early for the other flowers to come out so we are going back in another week, I will hope that the peacock will cooperate with my camera? Fat chance! I will just look at yours here...can't beat the beauty of that one.
