This is another of those cases where an OK initial image becomes stunning when viewed with the Lightbox setting.

I agree with Geoff. Really needs to be viewed in Lightbox. I really like this composition and the mood. Nice.

That's a beauty Chris. Gorgeously simple concept. Processed beautifully, no more done to it than needed. A pleasure to view.

    Re: Sentinel

I hesitate to mention this after the reviews above ....

It is very good Chris, but - and I'm sorry to be a kill joy I think it could be better ...

I detect some sharpening halos around the high contrast edges (viewed at 100%), both white and black edges are visible.

If I had got to 'here' in processing this, I'd go back and reduce the px radius and perhaps also the % amount of the (final?) sharpening applied and just nudge the dark greys to be a bit darker. On a less subtly lit scene, the current sharpening settings might not have been so visible, but on this particular image, they are I'm afraid.

If it helps (anyone), I can show a close up of what I'm talking about.

Sorry to be nitpicky, perhaps I'm just in an odd mood this morning, but when I see a great shot slightly marred by something I know how to fix, I feel it's my duty to share, given we're all about learning here at CiC.

It is a great composition and atmospherics - did you have to get up early to shoot the scene?

was on the lake 30 min before sunrise. Slow going because of the fog. On the tiff, I have to zoom in at 289% before I see anything close to a halo but I do see ehat you are saying. I went back in and dinked with the sharpening aspect a bit to get here.
