Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

It was clicked in Jodhpur, I waited for 2 hours for a woman to come with yellow or blue saree (Indian Traditional Dress.), but i was lucky to get a woman in red saree.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops.

Looks OK to me. Plenty of sharp focus depth.

Possibly you could try adding a little bit of highlight brightness, but mask out the distant bright areas and keep the shadows dark.

But this current slightly darker version may actually have a more natural feel to the scene.

Raj, I admire your patience in waiting so long for someone with the right color clothing to walk into the scene (I wouldn't be able to ). I probably would have let her get down the stairs a little further so the contrast would be more noticeable, but then she would be larger in the frame and you might lose the nice line created by the stairs that leads us right to her. Well thought out and executed.

This is what is meant by "MAKING" rather than "TAKING" a picture. You saw what you wanted and you waited until the scene was the way you planned. I would think about opening the shadows on the woman as well as perhaps increasing the saturation of the reds.

I played with this image a bit along those lines and also cropped it to a square format. I hope you don't mind me posting this version...

+1 to Richard's thoughts, Rajneesh.

The woman is the focal point of this image; all of the leading lines; the stairs, the gutter and the pipe's lead the viewer's eyes up towards her. While the hands on the wall are an important compositional element, they play a more minor role in this image. I would definitely brighten up the woman and would also darken up (slightly) the areas behind her.

I would also go with the vertical / portrait orientation that Richard used, as it eliminates much of the unnecessary negative space on the left hand side of the image. I think a 4:5 ratio would probably work here.

One question for you: What is the significance of the painted red hands on the wall? I remember seeing this quite often in Nandgaon and Barsana.

If there are multiple hands on the wall of a house means some girl got married in that house. It is a tradition to paste the hand prints on the wall during the marriage.
