Cheyne - Saves Lives Voluntarily
Back in February, one of the local galleries asked photographers to submit images of local women who were an inspiration to others in the community. Selected images to be included in an exhibition opening the first week in March.
This is my entry. I chose a young woman who began volunteering for our local branch of the State Emergency Service (SES) when she was just 16. Eight years later, Cheyne is a team leader, and has acquired a long list of qualifications that help her to help others and, most importantly, skills that help her to save lives.
A single mother with a 4 y/o daughter, Cheyne necessarily has a pragmatic approach to life. Her devotion to the welfare of others is irrefutable and has positive, practical, implications in the community. She is most definitely an inspiration to others.
The image was printed on canvas and stretched onto a frame approx 900mm (36") x 600mm (24").

Thanks Jean. Yes, the orange and the blue do complement each other well. The flash was a 600 w/s head in a 48" octabox at half power at around 2 mtrs from the subject.
Many thanks, John. Appreciate the look.

Hi Chris,
I like everything! about this portrait except that antenna...maybe crop that portion out and go for something square? It's a really nice shot all the way around.

I agree with Susan about the antenna (+1), Chris. The way you described this woman is like he female Tony Abbott, my favourite guy...Thanks for sharing her with us.
