With only just having a go at macro I find both subjects a challenge at the moment. :-)

I didn't say bugs were easy just easier There are three secrets to good macro (1) find a way to keep your camera rock steady (2) try not to frighten your subject (3) learn the best angles.

The one detail that is common to all photography is light and, more specifically, the quality of light. You get to decide whether that's a secret.

Many think flower shots are easy and they are to a certain point. But flower shots done well with great use of light, DOF, and color are not easy.
Brian you have such a diversity of plant life where you live that I'm always interested to see what you will shoot next.

Today we redid a raised bed. Planted lilies, roses, little purple flowers and some very strange spaghetti like white ones. Time will tell what beasties show up and what the blossoms will look like.

They're so small, trying to pin them with an insulin syringe is like trying to stick an icepick through a grain of rice.
