Some time ago I got a bit fed up with just taking 'pretty pictures' because it's just too easy here so tried to take some images that were relevant to environmental and social issues. My 'rubbish project' is the latest and the biggest challenge is finding a scene where you can show both the beauty and filth together.

Can you just imagine having a wedding in that place with all the rubbish? NOT!!!

Fortunately all the holiday spots are well looked after because they are away from the main towns.

Cool, they used it! That's great. It's pretty disheartening to know every piece of plastic made still exists, (some in a rather degraded form), and that each of us have contributed to that mess. I wouldn't mind coming to Fiji to help clean it up ;-)

Our local TV daily evening news has a 'shot of the day' feature that has displayed a couple of my 'pretty' pictures so now I'm going to undertake a social experiment and see if they will feature a not so pretty one

I was going to suggest just that. As an image showing what we have and what we stand to lose, this hits the nail. I wouldn't crop it. The more you show of the rubbish, the stronger the message.
