this was shot with my Tamron 90. As much as it is a real macro lens it also does excellent work backed off a bit.

I rarely use any flash but when I do it is the flash that is built into the camera. No extension tubes. A tripod is a necessity for me. Macro photography can be a lot like playing a slide trombone. Experience counts as much as science.

The Tamron 90 is excellent for portrait work and I would imagine your Sigma will be too.
