    Lights along the Neckar....

I went out to capture the fireworks above the castle, but in fact I find the photo that I captured while setting up was the best one of the evening. It started to rain during the Fireworks (droplets on glass) and then the smoke was blowing my direction - therefore obscuring the fireworks. I maybe albe to salvage something of the firework photos.

For now, I would like some C&C on this image. Is it too busy? It is a pretty strong crop of the original image.

It's a nice capture of electric colors but not enough detail in the lighted areas and around the bridge.

Tbanks John - I agree, the original capture was so dark around the bridge that one could not recognize a bridge....I did some work around that area to lighten it up....maybe need some more, hard to get it to look realistic.

If you're using PS or ACR/LR Erik, I'd try brushing on some extra clarity (say +35) to certain low contrast areas to enhance texture and perceived sharpness, for example; the bridge and the floodlit buildings up on the hill, may be even some on the nearer trees, but definitely avoid adding any to the lights, speculars, rays, trails and reflected highlights.

    It is a good composition

Thanks Dave - it does help, I pushed the sharpness on the castle and hills. I will try adding some clarity onto the bridge to bring out more detail.

All - how does the sky look - Natural, PS? Or if i did not say anything nobody would have noticed? I look at it and feel it is over PS, really just darkened it a bit with a luminosity mask and brush. Here i go again with the clouds and sky....seems to be a hot topic for me this month.

This is a nice image Erik. It is all about lights and your title supports the image nicely. Dave's suggestion about adding some clarity to some areas might work. But IMO you should do it very carefully in order not to make the composition crowded and complicated
