Nothing wrong with sharpness on the main subject.
I would selectively tone down highlights on the background and maybe add a bit of noise reduction or a little bit of blur to parts of the background; otherwise this looks fine.

I don't think it is a focus problem, so much as one of depth of field. You can close the Tamron down a bit from f11 to f18 or thereabouts which will help, and the soft area is localised to the tail, which suggests perhaps the orientation of the body was not entirely parallel to the sensor.
