I was there a few weeks ago and saw the same thing. All you can do is wait it out. They are big animals.
Nicely done.
Very nice light and attractively captured.
Very nice; aren't they wild yak?
Specifically they are prairie bison. There are also wood bison which we encountered in northern Canada near Great Slave Lake. The wood bison are larger than the prairie bison and seem to be more solitary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_bison
Neither is really a buffalo!
Until we saw them as we were walking along the road to Ft Providence I never knew there were different kinds of bison.
We don't see them in our area of Wyoming. There are herds east of us in South Dakota. People (too) often mistake these things for tame animals and approach them for pictures. Not a good idea. They are big powerful and potentially dangerous animals.
When we go outside we are entering the food chain but not at the top.
Now you need to see a grizzly at a safe distance.
