Not a waterfall but a cloudfall..

Another scene from my exiting day on the mountains of the Black Sea Region. I haven't seen clouds falling down the top of the mountains before ..

I used a technique which I learnt but haven't tried before, while editing the image. Just before uploading, I noticed that the red pine tree in the middle is a bit too red , so I will reduce the saturation of it.

Please don't edit the image, I will be happy to hear your C&C

Perhaps you've introduced a new genre of photography we should call a weatherscape. You certainly captured the flowing motion of the clouds over the mountain tops very well. The green tones are especially appealing in this image.

Nicely done! Was it really as yellow as this? We see this happen regularly in the Cascade Mountains but here it is usually a bit cooler color. Lovely photo!

In many ways this is even better than the previous image. Just check the brightness level of a small cloud patch in the top left corner.

Hi Mike , I like the idea of ' weatherscape' I was closer to the trees and foliage when shooting this frame. Also I edited this image with a different technique and may be that's why you find the greens better in this one. You can see the technique here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbvOjWvc5eE

Very Nice Binnur, envious of your location and your skill in capturing ( and processing) such a good image

Thank you Judith The actual scene was cooler ,the clouds in the sky were dark and the lower clouds which came from outside were white. If you set your camera's WB to 'cloudy' when shooting , then the colors look similar to the ones above. Unfortunatelly I forgot my camera's WB set to 'daylight' and then fixed the WB in PP . We were really in a hurry because we caught an interesting event and wanted to shoot a lot of frames of it from different places. So, I forgot to change the WB to 'cloudy' . The colors of the foliage looks a bit saturated because of the contrast adjustments but I'm happy with them.

PS. I'm told on my trip that those sea of clouds can be seen in that area from time to time as they happen regularly in your area. We were lucky to catch one as our trip took limited time.

Hi Geoff, thanks for commenting Yes, I edited this one differently and I'm happy with it too. I actually reduced the highlights in the top left corner . May be downsizing, sharpening and saving as JPG added some extra brightness to that area. I will check it tomorrow as it is nearly midnight here and fix it. Thanks for noticing.

Thank you very much Mark I live in the west part of Turkey and I went to the north-east of Turkey for a camera safari. The area is called East Black Sea Region and the nature is super there. This is one of the images from that trip. I'm glad that you like the image.

This is a beautiful picture and so unique! I've never seen clouds flowing over mountains. I'm going to investigate your link to the technique you used! It may not be something I can use but I won't know until I watch it!
Thank you for sharing your work! Well done!

I love this. You must have hiked real high up. May I know how high were you when this image was taken.

Hi Steven , I'm glad that you like the image All the plateaus we went on our trip were between 2000mt and 2500 mt. I didn't hike very much because we climbed the mountains with a minibus for fifteen people. I wouldn't drive on those roads even if I had an off-road jeep, because they were very narrow and dangerous with lots of cliffs (they weren't asphalt either). Fortunatelly the drivers in that area are very experienced and they know what to do and when to do . When we arrived in the plateaus , we seperated and walked individually to find suitable places for shooting. But I must tell you that climbing in those minibus on bad roads was much more tiring than walking in the plateaus

Nicely done, I don't think the pine is too red, it actually works to hold the gaze as the viewer follows the leading lines after being drawn to the bright clouds.
