    Cruise night series

I was at the classic car cruise night in Kitchener over the weekend. It was tough shooting there because of the hoards of people and bright early evening sun. I love classic cars with the 1950's being my favorite period.

Excellent series - thanks for posting.

In England in the 50's you could actually tell one car's manufacturer from another without having to get closer to examine the plastic-work.

Then they got swallowed up by BMC - kind of like the GM thing in the USA . . .

Nicely done... Difficult shooting when all the cars are grouped. Keeping the images close up worked in this case...

I agree with Ted. It seems like through the 1950's each car make and model was individual. Then sometime in the 1960's the all seemed to meld together...

So true Richard. So many people crowded around the cars that I had to focus on the cars details more than the whole car. It was a little frustrating.

    Thanks for sharing Dave!
I'm always interested in seeing what other car nuts are doing in other parts of the country/world.
That '58 'vette must have looked really nice white over red.

I think what happened was generally called 'aerodynamics'. Only so much you can do that'll get you thru the wind cleanly.

I'm always amazed what guys are able and willing to work with from a rust standpoint. Being here in Southern California we don't get a lot of that usually.

Dave, some stunning shots. It is a shame that there were so many people about.

Another way to "look" at this type of event is to photograph it as an event, not as just portraits of cars. As an event, other cars and the people looking at the vehicles would be an integral part of the coverage...

That's a good point Richard. I was looking at the people as obstacles to what I wanted to shoot. I could have spent at least half the time shooting people with cars and believe me there were plenty of interesting people there too. I'll make this a note to myself
