Small White on Nasturtium leaf

Wings are sharp, the head area seems a bit soft. Were you using the macro lens and what aperture did you use?

Some background before I answer your questions. A single small white has been a visitor to the garden most days in the past week. Not sure if it is the same one each time, but it's always on its own. I've tried to get it 3 times, and on each occasion by the time I got the camera out and setup, it had gone. Yesterday I had the D750 and Tamron macro out to see how that rig worked for digitising film positives and negatives. After I had done all I wanted, I was on the way back to the house when there it was. I switched the camera on and shot off 3 quickly with the objective of at least getting some in the bag, and stepping back to check the settings after that. And of course as soon as I got to stage two in the master plan, off it flew ...

So, yes it was with the Tamron, and yes the aperture was a less than optimal f5.6. Having said that, I was quite surprised how well defined it turned out. Nothing more seen today (wet and windy) - perhaps tomorrow ...

Hi Bill Nice details on the wings, I also like the colors. I agree with Nandakumar about the brown patch .
