    Roseberry Topping and Hay Bales

This image required me to travel about a mile from home, a pleasant walk but not with a full camera bag and tripod.
I had noticed the hay bales last week as I passed by but without my camera. I thought that by now the farmer would have moved the bales to his storage. However as the day brightened up (we've had a rain storm since I made this image earlier today) I decided to go and see if he had, as you see the farmer has obviously been busy elsewhere.

To my eyes the clouds just make this image

    EDIT: Missing image replaced

Nicely done, the clouds do make the image.

Yes, a good scene with a nice perspective effect.

    Peter,

I challenge you to shoot Hay bales with a Raspberry topping

Or is it just me that thinks of food when you post a thread with Roseberry Topping in the title?

    Now hungry,
    Dave

Sorry for making you hungry Dave, I hope you managed to obtain some sustenance. Just for clarity Roseberry Topping is the Shark fin (ish) shaped hill on the left.
There's a bit of poetic licence in the thread title too, as the round bales are straw not hay. But hey nobody died because of my flippancy Roseberry Topping and Hay Bales

I've replaced the link to the image, sorry I reprocessed the image and the link to my Flickr photostream was broken.

I think I will have to join Flickr. I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms as a result of the way TinyPic is behaving. Nice shot BTW and I agree, lovely sky. The sort of sky that is worth photographing in its own right for use at a later date.

I find using Flickr to host some images works well. However I find that the algorithms for resizing from the uploaded size (1040px usually for me) to a smaller size say 800px on the longest side can produce halos and other problems. Having said that I now just use images for use here at my upload size of 1040px it seems to work John.

I link from P base at 1200 pixels and everything works fine.

With some images, such as this one, viewing with the full size Lightbox option really does make a substantial difference to clarity.

I am with Dave...I thought about food with Roseberry. Fortunately I am having cold watermelon instead of chocolate (or berry for that matter). Anyway my first thought is the perspective. Excellent scene. Good cloud formations too. Overall, good image. Lucky day for you.

Lovely image with great sky and beautiful colors Peter IMO the image also works fine when cropped from just below the patch of the cloud on the top left corner .Then the image would be more about the hay bales. Just another alternative
