Hi Shadowman, nice simple composition, might work better in monochrome. Did you intend to have the magenta cast or was your camera on AutoColour and fooled by the green tack into adding Magenta ? Also, a Square crop might enhance the composition. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi John,

No I didn't intend on the cast, I tried cleaning it up in Lightroom without it going grey. Yes, camera set to Auto ISO. Thanks for comments and suggestion.

being incredibly picky might you consider correcting the lean to the right and arranging to have the shadow point directly towards the top right or perhaps left corner?

    Hi Brian,

I did an edit, Tinypic stopped working for me. Thanks for commenting.

Hi John IMO vertical format suits the image better, so I like your original . I'm not sure about the mono treatment either. I think I need to see the original format in mono to make a comparison, but I don't know what Mr. Tinypic will say about it

I think when the color is removed, i could focus more on the other features of the subject and here it really helped

I like shadows and diagonals as composition elements, so it's no surprise that I also like this image. I'll just mention that the seam in the handle is prominently displayed as is the direct reflection that disguises the handle's color, shape and texture in that area. I understand if you wanted either or both characteristics to be displayed. On the other hand, if you didn't want them to be displayed, it would be fun to see a retake that doesn't include them.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the comments and observations, the seam doesn't bother me and it is interesting that it displays so prominently given the DOF.

    Hi Binnur,

I placed the comparative edit in the original panel so LyteBox will compare. Thanks for commenting.

Hi John IMO the mono image in vertical format looks best.

Let's hope that tinypic will be nice to me too so that I can start a thread

    Hi Binnur,

Thanks for commenting, you can always start an album on CiC as that is how I got the second image uploaded.
