    Walnuts

    Setup
The tabletop and background are a single sheet of dark brown presentation paper. A small continuous-light lamp fitted with a diffusion sock to soften the shadows is on the right side. A white reflector on the left side brightens that side of the forward subjects. A flashlight (torch) on the rear left brightens the rear walnuts.

I think I would arrange it just a tiny bit different. I'd put the cracked shell slightly back from the shelled nuts. But that's just me. However your excellent picture did it.....now I'm hungry for walnuts!

Thanks, Sandy! I had the exact same thought as you and initially set up the composition as you described. I didn't like it, so I changed it to the current composition.

One thing about small objects that can't move on their own, you can put them where you want them and they will stay put! I did get my handful of yummy nuts too! Thanks for replying!

I like it a lot Mike Did you blur the walnuts at the back with PP or is it your aperture choice which created the blur?

    Thank you, everyone!

Binnur: The blur is created by the limited depth of field, not post-processing.

Mike, this is not one of my favorite shots coming from you. I think that the white colours dominate a tad too much. Maybe another angle showing the warm colours of the wallnut shells and tabletop. That is only my opinion.

Thank you to John and Ole!

Ole: It will probably irk you to learn that when I first positioned the nuts that are removed from their shell, I changed them to the current composition because too much brown and too little white was being displayed to my taste.
