Nice portrait... My local feed store has some pot belly piglets which are sold as pets. They are about twenty pounds and very cute. I am glad that my wife didn't see them.
We have our own five dogs and whatever rescue dogs we are fostering as well as a cat and six chickens. A pig would complete the menagerie It would not be "Old MacDonald had a farm' Instead it would be "Old Crowe had a farm"
Kim, don't you know that nowadays it's not PC to promote stereotypes? I have to say that using pearls to adorn swine doesn't appear to be any wiser than casting pearls before them.
But it's an awesome shot. The splash of color from the melon livens it up a bit.
I know the whole thing about to each his/her own. And I know that pigs are said to be smarter than dogs. But when it comes to living with a pig in your home they are, well.... PIGS.
Full disclosure Dan - I didn't dress this pig ;-)
Truthfully, I found her intriguing - the way she listens like a dog, and is housebroken, but also still on the wild side (I was careful being low with her, as I felt like she might flatten me any minute). To each their own, I however, would not want one.
Great use of color and detail.
Nicely done.
I like colour combination, therefore the composition. A pig smarter than a dog is new information for me. When I was young, we used to have a commercial piggery somewhere in my grandparents' property as a small part of their business.
This pig has style. Ahem
Cheers Ole
Well, actually this image reminds me old fat ladies who eat continuously Kim Nice color contrast .
