    Fair Fare

The State Fair was a good outing as always. This time I stayed for the late night fun and lights and tried a lot of long exposures and Live composites. I was feeling a bit rusty so I just let it fly which felt good. I think the post processing was just as much fun this time around. I had hoped to post a few more of the color shots but Tinypics is tired with three.I am especially pleased with the last shot which has to be titled Starship Exodus. Comments always appreciated.

Oh those are great, what a wonderful idea! Personally i like the first one best but that's probably because my preference is almost always for colour.

What a great set. The first one is beautiful in a colorful abstract way but second one has much more impact on me. There is just enough motion blur to capture the dizzy chaos of the zipper. Black and white gives it a sense of nostalgia as well. It really takes me back. The third one is a nice mix of the two. You still get the chaos and energy of the fair with the foreground pushing a bit more into the abstract.

If the second one were one of mine I would be printing and framing it. Well done.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that Orson Welles would proud of you for making the second photo.

Oh good. Thank you. It does have an Orson Wells feel though I wouldn't have been able to put my finger on that without your comment.:-) I look forward to the article.

Thanks so much for your comments Mike. It's so helpful getting feedback. I really like the Zipper too and once I get my printer set up I will take a crack at it - that will all be new!

Nice series. I agree with John, but my favourite is #1 of course. I like things like these in colour and that was such a beautiful abstract I will prefer because amongst other things, you incorporated some statics that identified what you are shooting at. I like that kind of approach better than guessing harder at what I am looking at and the excuse for calling it 'art' if you know what I mean...

Thanks for your thoughts Izzie. I did try to get a key element in focus to ground things though it didn't always work. Here's one that is over the top chaos!

Thanks much John. I enjoyed making them too. I just tried TinyPics with a little smaller size and it is working so here is at least one more and hopefully a couple more after that.
