    Powerful Elements

The Redcar Wind Farm consists of a 27 turbine, 62 MW capacity, offshore turbine farm constructed just to the east of the mouth of the River Tees.

I have been meaning to make an image or two of this wind farm for some time. This image is carefully chosen position to isolate these four turbines from their neighbours and to included the bird perch Powerful Elements. The addition of the vessel was just a fluke. But it did add another element.

Having processed a couple of the images from the shoot, I decided to try a mono conversion and would welcome your thoughts on the image.

Excellent. Horizon is in the right place, the shutter speed has got the turbines with good movement, the black & white points and contrast are good and the overall composition is is well-balanced.

Love this image... If it were mine, I might crop it so that the sea is only covering the bottom third of the image. However, this would result in an entirely different image...

I love it Peter. I wonder if eliminating the ship would improve the image - or maybe not. The more I look the more uncertain I am.
    Cheers Ole

Thanks for looking and commenting Ole, I decided to leave the ship in as it added another element. But I understand your indecision.
