    Look though any window

One of a series of window images that I made during a visit to Cragside in Northumberland.

Great looking window and capture, nice patterns and colors on the floor or window sash?

    That's a great shot!

My ex brother-in-law was a master stained glass make in deepest darkest Lincolnshire. He spent a lot of time fixing damaged church windows as they were vandalized by louts. One day he was in the process of putting back a large window he had laboriously fixed over months when a kid threw a rock through it. He had to take it down again. What was frustrating for him was that the church authorities would not protect the windows with clear Polycarbonate screens as they said it spoiled the effect, that despite the fact that the alternative was a completely opaque and ugly sheet of plywood...

Thanks John this window is one of a number that were unusually glazed some with stained glass some with patterned glass. The lower part of this image is a sloping stone windowsill.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Cragside is now a National Trust site. Built in the late 1800’s and was the first building in the world to be powered by hydroelectricity.
