    Need advice!!!

    Hello,

I have another Nikon D7000 and I am using Sandisk UHS memory card.
Is this a good one to use or is there any other card which is more better then this.
    Please advice.

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: Need advice!!!

Sandisk makes excellent memory cards and these are usually highly recommended by photographers. I shoot pretty well exclusively with Sandisk and Lexar cards. So long as you have no issues with this card (in terms of the camera handling it well), you should be fine.

Unfortunately the D7000 comes from an era where not all memory cards worked well with Nikon cameras and testing is the only way to ensure that it is compatible. Check your camera manual for the recommended cards, if you are having issues.

I'd endorse Manfred's message. I exclusively use Sandisk cards.

I aso use Lexar and SanDisk cards exclusively. I did a Google search for Nikon D7000 and SanDisk UHS cards which resulted in this hit, among many.

I am not familiar with this site so cannot guarantee it's accuracy...

However, there are UHS-1 and UHS-2 cards and, as per a comment on:
    https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3788347

"D7000 only supports UHS-1 not UHS-2, and that card slows down to 50MB/sec at UHS-1"

Again, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the above statement but, it might give you a basis for future research...

Although my Canon 6D2 is compatible with UHS-2 cards, a SanDisk UHS-1 card gives me the best performance for the price...

I also have always used SanDisk cards and have never had one fail, even after years of use. There are other good ones too, but there is no reason to worry about SanDisk.

    I agree (use 'em myself)

Unless of course it isn't really a SanDisk card

e.g. some unscrupulous folks might stick labels that say sandisk on cheaper cards, so always buy from a reputable source.
If you see them listed cheap somewhere like an auction site, beware!

    Re: Need advice!!!

In my many years experience using CF cards, I have never had one which worked right out of the package fail me later on. I even salvaged images from a card which I had dropped and was picked up and chewed a bit by one of my rescue puppies.

I don't feel that confident about SD cards because they do not appear to be as well structured as do the CF cards.

I am stuck with using SD cards in my 6D2...

    Hello all,

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if anyone other than me uses Hoodman Steel 1000x or the newer faster ones? I was introduced to Hoodman by the salesman who sold me my first digital cam 15+ years ago, and have used nothing else ever since. I've never had a failure, even with heavy use and frequent cleaning. I can recommend them highly.

There are very few companies that manufacture and package flash memory. Samsung, Toshiba, Sandisk (Western Digital), Micron (Lexar, which was recently sold to the Chinese company Longsys) and Hynix are the main ones.

Any other source of memory will use parts sourced and assembled by third party suppliers. Unfortunately, there are many in this business and quality can vary. I've had mixed results from these sources and have had card failures from Verbatim and Patriot.

I've used two of these Sandisk cards in my D7000 since it was new, without any problems.
